After the bi-plane ride, Grandma confesses to Joey that she switched the card on Mr. Pennypacker's pie.  Why do you think she told him what she had done? 

I think Grandma told Joey because she felt guilty.   She felt guilty because she did something wrong just to win. L.H.

I think Grandma just couldn't keep it from Joey.  It's like stilling something from a store you feel so bad you just have to tell them that you did it. M.B.

In this chapter Grandma switched her pie label with Rupert's just to win.  I don't think I would have done that.  Would you have? N.H.

No, N.H. I wouldn't have switched my pie label just to win the contest because, it's just a contest you don't have to win.D.C.

She must have thought this old, old, old, saying, “If you keep things bottled up you just explode!” or “ No matter how much you hide it you still tell it.” or maybe “Got to get somethin’, off your chest” or “Keeping somethin’ under your hat”. K.S.
